Watercolor illustration: Ragnarok online ranger

Made this in may as a birthday gift for a friend I met from an online game, Ragnarok online. Though, I have stopped talking to her because of some bad bad mishaps :/ If any one of you is interested I might start writing about personal dispute on my blog, but I'm not sure if you guys would be happy to see me venting out my stress on blog, haha. Though, I think it's gonna feel nice, sometimes, to do that.

But anyway, I've been painting on a smaller sized paper so that I'd get adapted to it, I plan to sell smaller paintings in the future, I also bought some nice small deckled edge paper from Amalfi.

I just ordered the second smallest Amalfi paper available, 10 x 7 cm (4 x 2,8 in), name card size. Thanks to Kateri I got to know this beautiful beautiful paper!

Well, like both naturalism style and Japanese manga slash animeish style and will be painting on Amalfi paper more in the future. I really love the deckled edge! Talking about paper, I haven't tried painting on Amalfi yet, but I've already fallen in love! I'll post a review later. For now, my favorites are Fabriano and Arches.

Okay I've digressed too much!
Here's the closer look on the illustration I made

It's harder for me to make small details on A6 sized paper. I need to get myself smaller brush! The one from Silver Brush - Black Velvet is really nice! Been using that  a lot to paint whatever I paint now.

Paper:  Arches, cold pressed
Brush: Silver brush black velvet, squirrel size 4 and 6
Paint: Sennelier L'aquarelle and Prima watercolor Decadent Pies

I used white Sakura Gelly Roll to draw the lashes, cause I like it white. Outline was drawn with mechanic graphite pencil and redefined with watercolor (payne's gray).

Here's how it looks before the coloring:

The character is a ranger from Ragnarok online mobile - Eternal Love, she's holding a tail  (kind of pet?) called Puriku.

Hope you guys like it, I'll be back with more posts!

  9. I don't know anything about this character you have drew but she looks lovely. I really like how you draw her lashes. I couldn't draw such details on such small size paper.
